Rakshana Charitable Trust received a call in 2016…
Sivagami
Rakshana Charitable Trust received a call in 2016 from a localite, informing them that two girls were being sold by their father to buy alcohol. The family was involved in ragpicking. With the help of the local police and social workers, our founder rushed to the spot. Six-year-old Sivagami was crying badly while her father was asking her to go away with a man. He had struck a deal for ₹600 for her sale. After a lot of commotion, the deal was called off, and Sivagami was saved. Sadly, her little sister was sold, and the Trust was unable to trace her. Sivagami is profoundly disturbed by the incident, so she wishes to join the Police force to stop such incidents from recurring.
