Navya
In 2012, Rakshana Charitable Trust received an emergency call from a localite, requesting them to rush to a spot where a five-year-old girl had met with an accident. We rushed to the spot to see a little girl bleeding profusely from her legs and crying uncontrollably. Navya is the daughter of a barber who is an alcoholic. Her mother deserted him and his sister, leaving them with the alcoholic father in a tiny $10 \times 10$ barber shop. The father was often not in his senses, and the children were left to fend for themselves. With her brother beside her, they would beg for food from strangers. The mother was pressured by relatives and local people to care for her children, but she had moved on and was not prepared to take the children, whom she considered a burden. She made a plan and, with the help of her paramour, took Navya in an auto and threw her into peak traffic with the intention to kill her. Due to the quick thinking of the local people, the Trust was notified, and Navya was saved in time. She underwent multiple surgeries to correct her fractured leg and was taken in along with her brother. The trauma of suffering and pain has kindled her desire to become a Doctor, as she wishes to eradicate any kind of pain for anyone.
