OUR Journey
Growth Through Time

Rakshana Charitable Trust was founded in 2011 in Bangalore by Mrs. Kavitha Subakar, whose childhood experience of growing up without a mother’s love ignited a lifelong commitment to care for those who have no one else.
What began as a small act of compassion—providing shelter, food, and education to four vulnerable children in a modest rented home—soon grew into a transformative mission.
By March 2016, Rakshana had become a safe haven for 35 children, aged 5 to 15, offering them not just basic needs but also a stable, nurturing environment where they could begin to heal and dream.
Recognizing that education is the gateway to lasting change, the Trust deepened its commitment in 2017 by enrolling children in respected English-medium institutions like St. Joseph’s Convent and St. Antony’s Boys School, while also providing extra academic support and a range of extracurricular activities to nurture holistic development.
